These stencils can be used with several technics ssuch as inks, paints, pastels etc. to create patterns on polymer clay, paper, cardboard etc.

Put the stencil on the clay, press lightly to place it using a roller, then dab the paint, pastel, powders etc. The colors/medium are layed down through the patterns.
Take the stencil off before colors/medium dry and wash it with clear or soapy water, rubbing it with a soft brush.

This not a silk-screen (no weft) but a traditional stencil. So, you can use some mediums (as alcohol inks) which can't be used with silk screens (alcohol gradually destroys the surface of the screen)
